Academic Year in America is committed to making the health and safety of our participants, host families and Local Coordinators our top priority. We continue to closely monitor updates from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO) and the U.S. State Department. We also consult with a third-party travel security specialist that advises on risks associated with travel to different areas of the world as well as guidelines from local authorities in areas that may impact our programs and participants.
AYA is currently working to place students with host families and high schools for the 2020-21 academic year. AYA will follow all recommended and required health protocols for students, host families and schools. The program will be smaller and students may arrive a little later, but we are hopeful that the students will still reap the benefits of their AYA experience despite the new protocols we will all need to embrace.
We will continue to monitor updates regarding COVID-19 closely and will provide updates as needed. Should you have any questions or concerns regarding the COVID-19 virus related to the Academic Year in American program, please reach out to AYA at 203-399-5417.
