- recruit and screen students
- administer English placement exams
- submit student applications
- review AYA rules and policies
- offer a predeparture orientation
- liaise with the AYA office and natural families
Partners may also attend AYA January or August student orientations
and the AYA annual national meeting.
Independent admissions
Students from countries where AYA does not currently have
a partner can apply through AYA's
Independent admissions program. These students must find their
own host family and obtain an acceptance letter from a local high
school. If AYA has (or can hire) a Local Coordinator close to the
host family, AYA welcomes the student's application. The same application
procedures apply. For further information on independent admissions,
call 1-800-322-4678.
