| Flights and Tickets
Domestic flights within the U.S.
Round trip U.S. domestic airfare to/from New York or Los Angeles,
CA (Thailand programs only) is not included in the program cost.
These flights will be arranged by the AIFS Foundation and included
on your program invoice upon reservation.
In some cases, it may be more economical and direct for students
to fly from their local airport to their international arrival city
and not to connect via New York or Los Angeles (Thailand programs
only). In such instances, students will be charged for the difference
between a NYC/LAX originating international flight and the international
flight departing from their local airport.
International flights
All program costs include round trip international flights departing
from a New York City/Los Angeles (Thailand programs only) area airport.
Students receive a $500 credit if they book their own international
airfare.
Domestic international flights within the destination country are
not included in the program fees unless otherwise noted. Participants
will be charged the additional cost incurred for these flights.
Itineraries/tickets
In general, flight information will be available to the student
two weeks prior to program departure.* Due to contract agreements
with the airlines, there may be cases where flight information is
unavailable until a few days before departure. Tickets are booked
with a departure and return date. A change in return date is allowed;
however, airlines will charge between $100 and $150 for this service,
which the student will be responsible for.
Please note that the AIFS Foundation’s travel agent books
special student fare tickets. If a student requires a change in
a travel date after the ticket has been booked, we may not be able
to rebook on the desired date due to limited availability.
