| 2008 AYA National Meeting in Cancun, Mexico for Local Coordinators
AYA is excited to have the beautiful 5-star Omni Cancun Hotel host our annual conference from November 6 - 10, 2008! This exclusive beachfront resort is situated in the heart of Cancun and close to everything from the ancient Mayan ruins to the trendiest nightclubs. An all-inclusive hotel, all meals, and activities are included. A luxury spa, fitness center, water sports, golf, tennis and swimming are also all available.
During the first day of the conference, Local Coordinators will attend informative training workshops to enhance their skills. They will also meet with their Regional Directors for smaller group planning sessions. Evenings will be filled with tasty dinners, optional shows, and dancing. After the day of meetings, several full-day excursions will be offered to those who wish to explore the culture and history that Mexico has to offer.
Cancun is one of those places that has a lot to offer other than the beach. Golfers will be truly amazed with the specially designed golf courses famous for their several lagoon and ocean front holes. Nearby Cozumel, Mexico is a natural ocean coral reef, perfect for scuba diving and snorkeling. About an hour’s ride away is Xcaret, an eco-archeological park known for its most important ceremonial center for the Mayan rulers. You can spend the day exploring the wildlife, and enjoying the beauty of the flora and fauna, with butterfly and turtle farms, or swim in the underground rivers and swim with the dolphins. Cancun has certainly shaken off the spring break stigma and the beautiful resorts and nearby attractions are the focus of enjoyment!
The four-day extension trip after Cancun is also sure to be fantastic. Stay tuned for the announcement of the extension trip location!
To qualify for this amazing trip to Mexico, current Local Coordinators must place a number of students by specified dates.
