FLEX Local Coordinators

Local Coordinators make a difference and touch the lives of those around them. The most satisfying aspects of this position are the prestige and recognition that go hand in hand with being part of AYA. Beyond this, Local Coordinators play an important role because they make a difference:

  • In the community, Local Coordinators promote an appreciation for the richness and diversity of our world and its people.
  • In the lives of foreign exchange students, Local Coordinators establish relationships that last a lifetime.
  • Local Coordinators increase understanding of the United States, its people, culture and history, among young people from around the world.

AYA carefully chooses FLEX Local Coordinators who can bring to this unique opportunity their experiences in cross-cultural communication, conflict resolution skills, demonstrated success working with local press and media, a solid relationship with a community high school, along with a flexible and creative frame of mind. As this is a very highly regarded government-sponsored grant, we are looking for Local Coordinators who will help us meet and exceed the goals of the FLEX program.
